On last Wednesday Evening we had Bro.Ernie Moore and wife Wanda with us. They
work and minister in Israel. He is a journalist
and has written several books so that is how he is able to be in Israel as no one can go
there as a missionary. We really enjoyed his talk and pictures of Israel.
On Thursday Night we had Bro. Wayne Cofield of Whitfield Baptist Church in Dalton
speaking on "Purpose of the Sunday School". That is to reach the people with the gospel
and teach them the Word of God. There was a good number that came for this, I'm sure if
we will put what was taught in use our Sunday School will grow.
The Ladies Prayer Breakfast at the First Baptist Church on Saturday was very good. The
reading of "His Eye is on the Sparrow" by Flora Lawrence was very touching and the
testimony by Beverly
Calloway was just great. She is such a quiet young lady, I never thought about her being
in the ministries of the church that she has took part in, not just teaching but even the
Prison Ministry. I really appreciate being invited for this, it was very good.
There was a 60th Wedding Anniversary Celebration at Wally's on Saturday at 5 PM for
Bro. Sam and Marjorie Chastain. They were missionaries for years even after they had to
come back to the States because of health reasons. He has Parkinson Disease. There
were 55-60 people that attended this, some went way back
even before they were married. They were one of the first missionaries that our church
supported after Bro. Junior Bryson became the Pastor.
Remember this Sunday will be our Homecoming!! We will not have Sunday School and
the morning service will start at 10:30 AM. We will have Bro. John"Jeep" Mitchell as the
speaker and "Set Apart" as our singers. Then a meal in the Fellowship Hall, afterwards
there will be more singing in the Auditorium. Hope you will come to be with us for this.
Beginning Monday Night at 7:00 we will have Bro. Mike Bagwell
preaching in Revival. There will be special singing each night. Monday-The Henderson
Trio. Tuesday-Calvary Pickers. Wednesday- Pleasant Valley Singers. Thursday-Bro.
Casey Brandon. Friday- The Hullender Family. This will be August 2nd-6th nightly. We
would love to see a large number each night for this and you will be blessed.
Please pray for Denise Pitts as she was having tests on Monday.
Whatever the outcome she needs prayer as she is having some serious health problems.
also pray for Tim Bryson as he is having surgery on Wednesday.
