| Are you sure of Heaven being your home? |
Take a moment and think, are you 100% sure of heaven being your home. If anything were to happen to you today,
would you be in heaven?
People would like to believe that the only way to heaven is by doing good, and that at the end of life, if your good is
more than your bad, you go to heaven, but the Bible does not teach this. People today are trusting in their own
works, their religion, their own accomplishments, their money, and their own false hope to get them to heaven. Most
people do not even know for sure they are going to heaven.
The Bible said I can know today if heaven is my home and I have eternal life with God. 1 John 5:13 said, "These
things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have
eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God".
What keeps us from going to heaven is sin. Sin is all the wrong things that we do, but you may say that you are a
good person, but there are times we have done wrong before God because this is who we are. The Bible said we
have all sinned Romans 5:12 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so
death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:". It is sin that keeps us from having eternal life.
Do you realize that you are a sinner and have done wrong before God, and it is sin that keeps you from Him?
All have sinned and because of this we do not have eternal life with Christ Jesus. Sin goes agents the holiness of
God, and therefore, can not enter in to heaven. Sin brings destruction and death. The Bible said in Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Because of sin
we will all die a physical death. Hebrews 9:27 said, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the
judgment:". Our spirit will live on in one of two places. If we die in our sins, we will go to Hell, but if our sins be
forgiven we will go to heaven. The Bible said in Revelation 20:14-15 "And death and hell were cast into the lake
of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the
lake of fire." The Bible teaches us that those without Christ are cast into the lake of fire.
Do you realize that because of who you are and what you have done, it requires you to be eternally separated form
God in hell?
The good news is Jesus Christ paid the wage of sin for you. Romans 5:8 said, "But God commendeth his love
toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.". He died in our place 2 Corinthians 5:21 said,
"For he hath made him (Jesus) to be sin for us (you and me), who knew no sin (Jesus); that we (you and me)
might be made the righteousness of God in him (Jesus)." Today we live in a free America, but there was a price to
be paid for this. Men and women died so we can enjoy the freedom we have today. We accept their price paid by
living in freedom from bondage. This is much like what Christ did for us. He paid the price so we must live in freedom
form the bondage of sin. Jesus not only died for our sins, but he was buried and rose again for us. 1 Corinthians
15:3-4 said, "For I delievered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the
scriptures:"
Do you believe that Jesus, who knew no sin, took upon Himself our sins and paid the price for us, and that through
this, we can be free from the price of sin?
If so, you must receive Christ Jesus by faith. The Bible said in Romans 10:9, "That if thou (you) shalt confess with
thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine (your) heart that God hath raised him (Jesus) from the
dead, thou (you) shalt be saved." To believe by faith you must stop depending upon yourself and your own efforts.
Ephesians 2:8-9 said, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.". You must take Christ at his Word and believe by faith in His finished
work for you.
If, right now, you know that your sins, know matter how little or how much or what you have done, is keeping you form
God and heaven, call upon Him and He will save you.
From the heart pray this prayer, "I recognize that I am a sinner and deserve to go to hell. I believe that you died on the
cross and paid the penalty for my sin. I believe that you arose from the dead three days later.
Lord, I am no longer depending on my own good works to give me eternal life. Instead, I am placing my faith in you
alone to forgive my of my sin and to give me eternal life. Thank you Lord. Amen."
