The snow was just beautiful as it came down. I hope everyone stayed
safe over the week-end. The ice is what can cause so much trouble
walking or driving.
Several churches canceled their Sunday Services because of the
weather. Pleasant Valley just had an afternoon service at 3PM. We were
pleased to have a good number in the service. Some came because they
didn't have services at their church. It was good to have Arvin Bryson
playing his guitar in the service. We have missed Benny and Doris
Wilson lately. They have Doris' mother with them now, after her stroke
they don't like to leave her alone
for any length of time. It was good to have them in the service on Sunday.
The song service was especially good, the choir, then the specials, one
by Julie McCurdy and the other by Karen Holcomb.
Bro. David preached from Ruth on the choices Ruth made. We have to
make choices everyday and sometimes we make the wrong choices and
all of them have a price. I am so glad I chose
to ask the Lord to come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. I
hope you have done that also. That is the most important choice anyone
can make.
February 13th will be our Church Visitation at 11:00 AM. Please try to
come out for this if at all possible. February 16th will be our monthly
Nursing Home Service at Standifer Place. Everyone enjoyed Dewayne
Hill in our last month's service.
The Remodeling is going well. The Auditorium is looking great. It is
hard to believe the change. The trim work has really made a difference in
the way it looks. The hardwood has to be finished
and the carpet is not down yet, but we should be back in the Auditorium
before long. That sounds good to me.

Thought for the Day: Peace is not the absence of trouble, but the
presence of God.
